Women's Only Rides
Our Goal
To encourage women in our community to come out and ride with other women. Routes will be on paved roads, so you can ride your road bike, hybrid or mountain bike.
Our target group is the beginner and intermediate cyclist, although more experienced cyclists are welcome to join in.
Your tour leaders are Pam Dawes and Kate Tinkler, with other members of the club helping out.
Ride Dates
We will ride on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening of each month. Check this web page or the TBCC hotline (626-8725) for schedule changes.
Start Times and Location
Start locations will change for each ride so check the RIDE SCHEDULE often. Rides will start at 6:15 pm.
Ride Distances
There will be two or three distances each week to choose from. We ride together in groups according to your ability. Our short rides are approximately 20km and there will be a "sweeper" to make sure the slowest riders make it back safely.
The lead riders, sweepers and sag driver are all volunteer positions that only take a small commitment. If you are willing to fill one of these important roles please check the VOLUNTEER SIGN UP LIST. Fill you name in where there is an available position and click the save button in the upper right area of your screen.
Membership Cost
You must be a member of the Thunder Bay Cycling Club, so if you aren't already, you can join. A single membership for the season costs $60.
NOTE: There will be 2 "free" nights (May 18th and June 15th) where women can join our club ride to test it out. If you want to ride with us a second time, you must become a member. If you have never been a TBCC member and you want to try out a ride on a different night, there is a $25 one time fee which will be applied to the cost of your membership should you decide to join the club.
For insurance purposes, you must be signed up and paid before you can ride with us. Membership forms are available on the TBCC website or at the beginning of our rides.
What Should I Bring?
Helmets are mandatory for all rides. You should carry a water bottle and spare tube in case you get a flat - even if you can't change it yourself, someone can help you. A sag vehicle will be following the riders for the first few rides.

These clinics provide a wonderful opportunity for you to brush up on your cycling skills and feel more comfortable both on your bike and riding in a group. There is no charge for them, but you must be a member of the Thunder Bay Cycling Club to participate.
