Day #5 in PEI
Hey again
So today was the 80 km road race for the women. It was a pretty flat course but very active. Things didn't go quite as we had planned with no attacks sticking and everything getting reeled back in. There was an early 2 women break just after a crash within the the first km. The break stayed away for quite a while before the peloton could finally get organized. Finally Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan started bringing them back. Numerous attacks were made by Quebec and Ontario for the next 50 km. With one lap to go we knew it would come to a bunch sprint. Our team had some trouble finding each other for a lead out so it ended up with 3 of us fending for ourselves. We had a strong finish, but no podium. KK Michener was 5th followed by myself in 6th. I was happy with the result for myself, but it could have been a better day. The boys are racing now and then we are all going out for a team dinner. Tomorrow is the crit which will be on a little bit of a rough and sketchy course. Hope everything is well in Thunder Bay!

Another gold for Ontario! Today was the ITT of a distance oh 14 km. My teammate Denise Ramsden took the win and KK Michener and Rachel O'Reilly took 7th and 8th respectively. I finished 13th which I was happy with. It was another scorching got day with temps of about 37C with humidity. We now have a day off tomorrow before the road race on Thursday. I will try and get to a computer tomorrow to send some pictures of the events.
Cheers,

I actually finished 17th out of 44 but I got pulled last lap because of the short lap and UCI rules of being pulled if you are a certain percentage behind the leader. My teammate Makaela Koffman took the gold and KK Michener was 4th Laura Bietola 6th Denise Ramsden was 11th. For the boys Jon Kinsie was also 4th. We're now heading back on the shuttle bus to shower and take advantage of the massage and physiotherepy. We have a team dinner at 6 and then we will be resting up for the 14 km TT tomorrow.
